Modeling

Modeling as a Teaching Strategy

There are two basic kinds of modeling used in the CAPI program. The first is instructional modeling for teachers, where teachers demonstrate to other teachers how to effectively teach a particular unit.

The second is instructional modeling for students, where teachers enact the learning process, or ‘model’, and show students what they are thinking as they are doing a reading exercise. These are also referred to as “think-alouds.”
